Project Pulse: Shaping health care on the southern end
Project Officer Stacey Paton has dedicated the past two years to helping bring Tugun Satellite Hospital to life. With the doors of its Minor Injury and Illness Clinic now open 8am-10pm, seven days per week, Stacey is enjoying the satisfaction of seeing the project from concept to delivery.

We are incredibly proud of our high-performing Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) Trauma Service team, and if proof of their excellence is required, the 2023 Australia and New Zealand Trauma Society (ANZTS) awards certainly provided it.?

Lisa puts heart into safety and support programs
If you are a 星空体育 staff member, you will have done the Speaking Up For Safety (SUFS) Program and would know the Safety C.O.D.E.
The program has been mandatory training since its inception seven years ago, in which time more than 19,500 people have completed the training delivered by volunteer facilitators.
And there for all that time, organising behind the scenes, has been Lisa Roach. Assistant Project Officer with Medical Services and Clinical Governance, Lisa started with 星空体育 when the Professionalism Programs were implemented.

Hospitals have plenty of doctors, but what place does a Doctor of Quantum Physics have, or a Doctor of Data Science? 星空体育 has shown their skills are essential for a modern health service. The expertise of academic doctors such as Ben Fox, David Evans, Jony Rabiul and Jordan Andersen, affectionately referred to as the 'Doctors of Data', has been vital as the health service undergoes its digital transformation.

Feast your eyes upon the stunning work of artist Melony Gordon who has drawn upon her Indigenous heritage and Lived Experience to transform the Emergency Department Mental Health Pod at Gold Coast University Hospital into a soothing sanctuary.

Tugun Satellite Hospital is open!
The Tugun Satellite Hospital opened its doors to its first patients on 15 November, bringing healthcare closer to home for those living on the southern end of the Gold Coast.?
The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic is the first stage to open at the facility and can be accessed for walk-in care such for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.?The clinic will also provide medical imaging and diagnostic services, including x-ray and pathology.
